Oil Change

Hardest question...EVER. Heh. My owners manual has gone missing.

What is the exact amount of oil needed? I can't remember if it's 4 quarts or 4.something. Been so long =( My Tacoma has got me mixed up since it's 5.2 quarts.

Thanks.

Where ever you buy your oil from should be able to tell you how much on their computer. I know pepboys can.

It should be about 3.9 qt if you replace the oil filter.
4 should be fine.

The actual capacity is really only a ballpark number for the purposes of changing oil since you will never get all of the old oil out through the drain plug. The dipstick will tell you when you have enough oil. I generally run the engine for a few minutes after the oil level reaches the full line and top up again if necessary.

I agree. FWIW, I've changed my oil twice. 4 qts was perfect each time.
