oil burning on drivers side

i was driving pretty hard today with some 350z's and afterward i noticed a decent amount of oil smoke/smell definately coming from the drivers side of the engine.

i havent had a chance to really get in there and look, but where are some common places for oil leaks on the drivers side? it would be helpful to have somewhere to start looking.

everything lower than the oil filter on the drivers side has at least a little oil on it, so its pretty tough to judge exactly where its coming from. after i let the engine cool down for a few hours, then drove lightly for a few miles, there was NO smoke at all. and there was NO oil slick under the car. all the gauages were good the whole time and the temp never moved.

i know hard driving makes little things happen that are just expected of hard driving, but this was definately more smoke than there should be.

Motor mounts but I doubt thats what you have if you have oil all over your engien. First was the engine and then you will be able to find you leak.

Oil pedestal O rings, Oil filler neck O ring, oil filter/gasket, oil blow by in the intake piping + piping leak. That's all I can think of for possible oil leaks for your senario.....

is there a good way to clean out all the oil so i can trace the leak? i would be scared to start squirting water all around since all the main fuses are right there.

whatever it is it cant be THAT bad, cause the 350's had alot of trouble keeping with me. although one of them had an exhaust (the only visible mod) and after we reached about 120mph he started getting away from me, but very slowly.

the oil started burning about 30 minutes after the hard run and the engine sounds and runs about 95% normal. theres a tiny hiss sound that pulses, but i can only really hear it at idle. once i rev to about 2k i cant hear it anymore.
