AR Oh my! Parts will Fly! (help)

Just got my 94 FD back from the Body Shop (after some minor front end damage) and on my way home, I had a black piece of plastic fly off on the driver and passenger side of the car!

First, the front driver side started making a loud "flapping" noise for several seconds then whatever it was, flew off. It went under the car, I ran over it, then I saw it flying though the air in my rear view mirror. Aaaarrgghh!

Several minutes after that, my passenger side did the same thing.

I have since taken it back to the Body Shop to correct the problem, and they replaced the Fender Liners and that's it. They said that's all that it could've been and were very rude. I seem to remember my Fender Liners still being intact when I dropped off my car? And if that was what flew off, it would've been a lot larger than what I saw!

I'm thinking the piece I saw was a flap of black plastic, about the size of a lunchbox. Is there a piece that connects the front, bottom part of the fender liner to something else up front? Can someone please help shed some light on this? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

There are small pieces in the corners that connect the fender liners to the front clip. Those are about that size.

^What they're saying. I know on mine, they looked like they were intended to direct air to the front brakes. They are located under the oil coolers.

^^ Yup thats exactly what it is. I just recently got my FD on the road. First freeway run, did the exact same thing. Found one on and one off. Just a little triangle gone. Check it out and make the body shop replace it.

This. Call up Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda (703-490-8170), he'll know exactly what you're talking about, he ships fast, and he's cheaper than damned near anywhere else.

Could also be the oil cooler ducts. I had the same problem. I was dragging something then several seconds later it stopped and I ran it over. Thank god I was only in town so i could pull over right away and retrieve it.
