Oh...my...god!!!!

Well, today was a good day. I stopped by the garage my friend works at and there it is...a Montego Blue 94 R2! The ONLY ONE for about a 20 mile radius around my town. This was the first time I'd ever seen one in person, and it was the MOST BEAUTIFUL car I've ever seen (even though it's completely stock). I spent about an hour just looking at it, even got him to move about six cars just so he could put it on the lift so I could get a good look at the whole thing. As if that wasn't good enough, his boss, knowing what rotary fanatics we both are, says, "Hey Rhett (my friend), take it out to blow out any excess carbon(?). Oh, and take Dayn (me)." I could have pissed myself I was so excited! We take it around town and I ask Rhett what his boss meant by blow out the carbon. He told me that meant to take it on the highway and let'er rip. So we got onto I-40 and cruised at 75 for a minute. Then Rhett looked over to me and counted "three...two...one" and floored it. OH MY GOD that thing was fast! He took it up to about 145mph, which took what seemed like about 30 seconds. THe whole point of this post was to say that you people have THE GREATEST CARS EVER CREATED. I came home and made a deal with my mom that if I graduate college (I go this fall) in the top 25% of my class, she'll buy me one. I now have the best incentive to work my *** of in college, because I WILL HAVE AN FD! Your cars have inspired me to succeed!

Im assuming it was Montego Blue. The paint looked blue when it was in direct sunlight, but looked green when we pulled it into the garage. And according to my friend's boss it was a 94 R2 (leather, stock spoilers, sunroof, power everything)

Heh. Can count on JoeD on being Mr.Sarcastic. But seriously, it's great that you were able to take a ride in a MB R2, but please do yourself a favor and don't share how you are going to get it. You will get shunned upon especially if you are getting it the way that you are. I do like how cars can do more than just take you from point A to B though...heheh they are now academically inclined weapons of war!

montego blue + sun roof + leather = not a R2

r2 comes with none of that, what you saw was a mb touring model with r2 spoilers

Oh, and if the second part of your post was you being sarcastic, let me tell you something. I am paying my own way through college. Tuition, books, food, room & board, everything. I have been working my *** off for the past two years just to be able to go to the school of my choice, so it seems only fair that if I do well she buy me a car that costs less than the money I will have to shell out just to be able to go. And I really take offense to people who assume I'm spoiled because my mother owns a nice house and teaches at a university.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but that isn't an R2. If it has either leather seats or a sunroof it isn't an R2 (unless the person asked for the dealer to put those items on it before they bought it). I don't mean to pick on you. Just thought I would let you know. It was probably a Popular Equipment Package (PEP) and the guy just put the stock front and rear spoilers on the car. I've got the exact same car except it is black. Just my two cents. Glad you like the cars though.

its eaiser to just get a job and work throughout college for the 4 years and just by a 7 then to get in the top 25% of your class college is hard

I agree my God and on top that, 1Bad person...err that didn't come out the right way, but nobody made fun of you or anything YET, so there is no need to get your panties in a bunch. I was just warning you to watch out yourself. Good luck.

I hope that your buddy or the garage owner is the owner of the car you took for a joyride. And by the way, which garage is it? I want to know so that I won't ever leave my there.

Do any of you guys remember what happened to Shiv's car at Big-O Tire?

artowar2 is right if somebody else is going to floor your car then don't leave it there, we left our car at the machanic he said he was going to drive it home and see what problems it had, he had the car for a week none of the problems were fixed, i think he was joyriding it, thank god it wasn't an rx7!

Effing A, man. I can't tell you how pissed I'd be if that was my car.

Even if his mom does buy it for him, he would have still worked his *** off for it. I don't really see anything wrong with that, now if she was gonna buy it for him for no damn reason and he is only 16, that's different.

I cant vouch for the sunroof thing but I can for the leather. I have leather in my R2 but the first owner wanted that and the factory complied. Everything else is what it should be, dual oil coolers, no rear wiper, R2 spoilers, strut tower braces, etc. etc. Maybe they did a sunroof for the guy, who knows but I would probably think its a touring.

man, you guys have a complex. the guy came here all happy and what not about this fd andyou guys started busting his bubble about what it was. . . . WHO CARES. . . HE IS NOT GOING TO BUY THAT ONE!!!!! im sure that if he is gonna wait to get one and stays on this forum he will find out exactly what to look for. . . he has plenty of time. and im proud of the guy for wanting to get college done before he gets his fd. i wish i had. now my friends are graduating and getting good jobs and all i can say is,"hey, look at my car. . . i work my *** off for it!" i wouldnt trade my rex for anything, dont get me wrong. im just saying that there is nothing wrong with him getting one from his mom when he graduates freaking college. . . thats college. . . the start of his life. think about that for a minute. im sure there are plenty of people on the forum that got college grad. presents. i say welcome to the club. . . just wait though. haha. the work isnt over. your gonna work your *** off to get it and then your gonna work your *** off to fix it. haha. its great though. the car drives you to perfection. have fun.
