I hate to add my 2 cents but I have a similar problem, my car is leaking coolant , I can smell it in the exhaust when I first start it up, doesn't really blow white smoke just the normal moisture clud burn from sitting, however it does get hot when I am sitting, but not all the time, and it will spew water out the resivoir, I have checked the oilseveral times and no signs of anything except recently changed and still fairly clean oil, and even if my car sits all nite there is stil;l pressure when I pop the radiator cap in the morning?????? Any sugestions

Unhappy You already know the answer

Suggestions per your question:

First, do the cooling system pressure test to confirm where the leak is. However, it certainly sounds like you have a bad coolant seal. You have all the symptoms.

Second, get the bad coolant seal repaired (engine rebuild).

i performed a cooling system pressure test and it held 20psi, when I look at my turbos I see traces of scorched coolant everywhere, i know i'm being ignorant cuz I don't want to admit it is the engine, but wouldn't that more than likely be the turbos, and I did not see any trace of coolant coming out the exhaust ports?????

take off the t-stat filler neck cap, fill it to the top, start the car, look for small bubbles coming up.
