Which would you chose, assuming stock fenders, and why? I am thinking of running 265s all around.

I can roll the fenders, but ideally I need the wheels to not protrude for legal reasons.

+45 fit perfect all around without rolling the fenders. 285/30 will rub a little on full lock (25 inch ride height) so you should be ok with skinner tires.

you're definitely good with +45. I wanna say +38 but it'll be close on those fast sweepers.
17x10 +45 squared with 40-255 Azenis on my FD. I had to roll the fronts a bit but there was no rub at all unless I was pushing it on the track. The roll took care of that..

My friend was saying go with 38s, but then I'd almost certainly have to have separate wheels for getting the car inspected. I don't see why I couldn't just use spacers and split the difference.

18X10 38 is an option as well, and would let me use bigger tires in the future, but would almost certainly rub or stick out with stock fenders.

I vote for +38. If you need to roll the fenders up front then so be it. Still much better than the old sunken battleship look

I had 9.5's with +42 in the back (my fronts were 8.5's) and although the actual fitment was on point. I never really cared for the look

+45 for less risk of rub and poke (for legal reasons), add spacers as desired for aesthetics

we might keep in mind that in Japan the inspection actually checks that the wheel is under the fender, so the 45 with a spacer might be better
