^I was hoping they were some other brand. Too many rivets required for me. Pettit Racing used to sell a set of high quality powder coated vents thant we thicker than the ones referenced above. They were also riveted on but IMO they look more OEM.

To vent the intercooler to the outside world.
Are you freaking kidding me. Have you ever taken apart a fender liner or looked anywhere remotely close to your oil cooler. The opening on the side fender is linked to a vent that follows the top of the inner fender and the only place it leads to is the oil cooler.

Venting air out of the engine bay is a very serious issue, not bullsh** as you suggest. I call BS on you taking appart your fender, either that of it is your eyes that aren't functional.

Forgot about this thread. I'm away from my car for a few months, but I'd still like to do the original S2000 style mod, but I'd be a little nervous on my virgin hood. Any updates David Hayes?

^No updates except the pics posted on the last page. Gotham Racing still has the car - search for my name and find the saga of the nutria rat The mechanics did say they could see hot air venting out of the hood when they drove the car and when it was at idle so that can't be bad.

^Yes, but I want something more scientific. Measurements, numbers, that sort of thing. I know the car was pushing 200F water temps before the modification so I'll be able to see where it is at now. It's a 3 rotor so it tends to run a bit hotter than a 13B.

that sounds like too much work.lol I was kinda lazy, my hood only costs 250 bucks w/ great fitment. FRP, big *** vents right after the SMIC. I can actually touch damn near everything under my hood after driving it.

this is an ugly shot of the car but the hood works great.

This thread is getting way off topic lol. But love your rims, and after I drove with a bubble shifter, I want one!

Can't wait to see a more in-depth review of your vents David Hayes. Hopefully water temps and IAT temps will be noticeably lower, and I'm sure it will be considering our hoods have so little ways for air to exit. A big thing for my car is heat soak, and I'm sure it'll be considerably better with vents and leaving the fans on.

I've heard everything to the contrary about the FEED hood being functional. It's the nicest looking aftermarket hood for the car, but I've heard nothing of it reducing engine bay temps. I've also heard it weighs more than stock.

Believe me, I REALLY want a FEED hood, so if someone could please please please prove me wrong, I'd be forever grateful

Proof would involve before and after install temps...

i've been noticing that many Mercedes and the new M3 has vents in the back of the hood near where that Feed hood has its vent. I guess that is a good location.

Yeah I work on Benz all day, and every new model Benz has 2 hood vents towards the rear. I've been thinking about going with the Knightsports style hood.

I don't think theres a need to do it for cooling, it does look pretty good though on some other cars...I wouldn't touch the lines of my 7

Be sure to post up pics once done. You could get away with a white hood, it'll be like a reverse white car with cf hood. lol jk
