Unlike OE our calipers are of radial mount design and are not made for direct replacement and require adaptors to mount to OE spindles.

Caliper only:
4-piston Caliper (Red) RB4045

Typical upgrade caliper kit (including adaptors, brake lines, and pads) for Subaru.
Subaru Aluminum Caliper Upgrade Kit for 294x24 Stock Rotors

Above is only for your reference, depending on which kit your guys are more interested, we will offer the brake package (including rotors) at a bundle price which will be lower in price than purchase separately.

Currently we have the following brake kits for RX7 front:

1. 17" wheel kit: 332x32mm rotors/4 piston kit (Original RB-RX7 kit)
2. 17" wheel kit: 332x26mm rotors/4 piston kit (New)
3. 16" wheel kit: 294x24mm rotors/4 piston kit (New)

#3 can use OE calipers instead.

18" wheel kit with 355x32mm rotors can be made available either with track duty 4 pot or 6 pot calipers.

Standard colors are black and red. Optional colors are blue, yellow and hard anodizing w/price adder.

Will add more caliper pictures showing different colors.

Our rotor size capability is up to 432mm (21/22" wheels) for SUV.

RB, thanks for posting the additional info. Tech is appreciated. However, for an apple to apple comparison on the caliper weight, shouldn't the RB caliper include the adapter and any additional bolts and hardware?

Also, how does the RB caliper compare in radial dimension to the OEM caliper. I run a 15" diameter X 10" wide wheel and the clearance is very tight to the barrel of the wheel.

And, how does the area the fluid presses against on the RB pistons compare to the area of the OEM pistons?

TIA,
Philip

Yes, our calipers are made with top (radial) mount, so they require an adaptor to attache the caliper to spindle.

Adaptor wt 0.71 lbs/ea + 2ea M12 caliper bolts wt 0.23 lbs.

Total 0.94lbs + 4.19 lbs = 5.13 lbs/ea

The kit requires 346mm (+3mm) or 349mm to clear the wheel barrel. Template link will be posted on our web so you can down-load them and test fit your wheels.

Our front calipers have 38x38mm piston dia (45.4 cm^2) vs. OE's 36x36mm (40.7cm^2), so with rear piston dia of 35mm (38.5cm^2).

OE ratio is 51.4/48.6% vs. RB's 54.1 / 45.9% (Shifting about 3% bias to the front which makes the whole system more balanced)

Thanks RB for the quick and comprehensive info and answers to my questions. Great insight on why I was interested in piston area in offering up the effect on bias ratio.

Now I need to get at the car and see if the calipers will clear my wheels.

Cheers,
Philip

Link for front OE size RB caliper kit fitment template.

Front RB caliper kit and rear two piece rotors.
RacingBrake Front & Rear BBK for Mazda RX-7 93-95 (P/N 2099 & 2106)

We believe our slim 4 pot calipers is the most low profile one in the market, but would certainly appreciate if you (or other member) can down load the template and test fit to the wheels and report back.

Thank you.

Those OE replacement two piece rotors will be shipping in about two weeks. We apologize for those customers who had to wait while we were making the rotor hats.

Thank you for your patience and here is the link to the item.

RB, what is the thickness of the face of the rotor hat for the OE replacement rotor relative to the OEM cast iron rotor, i.e., does it make the studs "shorter"?

TIA, Philip

I purchased the OEM size 2 piece front rotors when they first came out and loved them.
Then I sold the pair to a friend who also likes them. They were replaced with the original Racing Brake front big brake kit which are great. I also have their original rear brake kit which uses the stock rear calipers with a RB new attaching bracket.

One factor that I am impressed by is how smooth and polished the rotors are when using their pads with their rotors. They wear without any grooving like the stock brakes did.

ET700 are great for the street even in winter.

We don't have OE sample off hand but our rotor hats for RX7 are made from "forged" aluminum with to 6.5mm thickness which should be very similar to OEM w/o concern of varying the lug bolt length.

Thank you.

Looking to replace / upgrade my brakes.
Any reviews from ppl running the 2 piece stock rotor replacements?

How do the BBK compare to something like Wilwood or AP?
