If you are talking about the engine side plugs, no one knows. If you are talking ECU side, those are standard plugs.

This is not a completely accurate statement. We have identified the manufacturers of all the connectors. The problem is that some of them are made by Sumitomo, which happens to have insanely high minimum order quanties, and no real distribution network. For instance one of the connectors they wanted 1000pc minimum order on the body, with a 40,000 piece min on the terminals

you know if you have used connectors you can always pop the pins out, put the soldering tip on the pin to melt the old solder and resolder in the new wires and it'll be like new...that's what i did when i put my msd box on my leading coil.

Post up the information for people to know (i.e. connector - maker). I keep hearing the same thing but never see any information on it in every thread about the subject.

Sorry, I am just not going to spend the hours it will take to post up all the manufacturerers and part numbers for the connector bodies, terminals, wire seals and locks for every connector on the RX7.

The Sumitomo connectors that are used are the DL sealed series you will recognize them when you see them. Here is a link to the catalog. Let me know if you have any luck buying from them.

and a handful are the TS sealed series

I personally don't have a need for them. However, the first thing I would suggest is that someone who is or knows a mechanical/electrical engineer to check on them. They can typically use their company to order parts (I have a friend who does this quite often) and get around the huge number of units. Or they may be able to find another distributor for them.

Sumitomo is factory direct, there are no distributors. I have been in and know people in the connector business for over 15 years. There is a small outfit called Senko that claims to be able to distribute, however it is only after they receive express written permission from Sumitomo to sell to any particular company. This is granted by contacting Sumitomo, we do have permission to buy, however we will not buy thousands of dollars worth of each wire terminal to meet the mins.

The white and grey CAS connectors are Sumitomo. Pretty much every grey connector is.

Well then they may as well be unknown then unless someone wants to invest in 1000 of them here and there. Simply knowing who makes them doesn't matter if they aren't accessible.

But they are not "unknown" and we get samples all the time, but that does not help the people that want to buy 1 connector.

This would be a gerat mystery to solve....maybe we can contract that guy from digging for the truth on the history channel, any leads on that?

Anyway all I need is the fan wire connectors, both ends. I could probably just buy a used one but I'll probably be needing a number of them in the future.
