The box will light up but is blank. Any ideas for a fix on this. Car has no motor or ecu if that matters

found this post. Is it woth a try. My backround lights up but displays no digits

 

If you don't have the motor in the car, you won't be able to get a reading - the odometer grounds through the ECU harness to the engine (weird, I know). Had a buddy who experienced the same thing, when he put the motor in and hooked up the harness, there was the reading.

yep, its the ground under the UIM near the coils

 

I have this problem too. I tried the sauter thingy and it didnt work. It has a small ammount of light, but no numbers show. BTW my engine and ecu is in. It has been like this for almost a year, but never been able ot fix it.

so what pins do I need to ground to get a reading I need it to show the milage so I can get an out of state inspection
