So, i am new to the sight and just figured out this search thing. I guess i found the answer to my own question. According to what many have posted on the subject there is simply a light bulb behind the lcd that has gone out. And that i can remove the bulb from the abs and use it as a replacement. And if that is not it than the problem is in the wiring... Well then. If anyone is reading this and has something else to add.... please dont hesitate.

The backlight is the light bulb. If you see the backlight then it's not your lightbulb that is bad. Your problem is that a capacitor has gone bad on your odometer PCB or you have a bad ground to your instrument cluster. I would recommend pulling your cluster and sending it to FDNewbie Imports. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=731706
Be careful removing the cluster. The gauge hood is known to break and is very expensive to replace.

That thread should help you out if you replace your capacitors.
