odometer goes off after a few seconds

weird problem
turning the car onto the on position the odometer turns on then after a few seconds it goes off after another few seconds and stays off.. any suggestions?

I had a similar problem. But my tach stopped working also (after a few weeks). I thought it was the soder points in the back of the tack but I redid those and nothing changed. My next step was to replace all of the capacitors (there is a pdf somewhere around here on what to change) but I got lazy and got a new cluster.

My tip would be to research the tach problems.

I had the same problem which was due to a ground wire in my E6X harness not being.... grounded :P

odometer would light up when turning the key to accessories, but go off (and speedo not work) when the car was started.
