You can get a trickle type charger at PepBoys called a Battery Tender. If the battery doesn't hold a charge, it is covered by a 3yr, full replacement warranty - no prorating.

Cossie, I've got a Battery Tender, which works fine as long as the battery has some charge left in it. When it falls below a certain level, the Battery Tender won't try to charge it (read the Battery Tender instructions for an explanation), and you'll need to use a different type of charger to get started.

If you're using a PC680, my advice is to attach a trickle charger every night. Don't let it go for a week or two, or you'll need to charge the battery to start the car.

If the PC680 is draining fast, I would check the electrical system. I say this because I hear this complaint from some while others like myslef never had a problem.

I used it for two years and often left the car sitting for two weeks at a time and never had a problems starting it. It went bad on me when my motor was out for months and I didn't keep it on a charger. Sit and listen to the stereo for 30 minutes without the engine running and it would drag when starting.

I'm now using a PC925 mounted in the passenger storage bin and have had no troubles.

what about installing a breaker in the main power line, that way you can just flip it when not using the car... easier than taking off the negative cable, or hooking up a trickler charger
