Odd Problem in 3rd Gear.

When i drive like a normal person shifting between 2500-3000 rmps, in first and second everything is smooth and fine, but when i get into my 3rd gear and it comes time to shift around 25-3000 rmps it jerks sometimes as if like the clutch pressed itself in and out by itself. Anyone have these kinds of experiements?

How long has this been hapenning? And is this spirited driving or normal city traffic shifting?

On side note, are you new to manual shifting (I am as of last year...so it's cool)? Anyhow, each car has a sweet spot at which to shift. For me in city-traffic, from 2nd to 3rd...I usually shift at 3000 - 3250 and it's smooth - no jerk. With the slightly longer travel from 2nd to 3rd...you may be releasing clutch a fraction of second to soon or midway?

I should have been more specific. it doesnt jerk when i shift it jerks randomly inbetween 25-3000 rmps. even if i want shift at like 3500 or something. the jerk is like i am being pushed or something.

It sounds like a grounding problem to me...maybe 3k hesitation or just bad grounds? My car would buck at certain RPM's cause of bad grounds.

Hey doubleTT,

I see. Heh, sorry for reading wrong. Maybe like FallenCho said, could be the common 3K "hesitation", "bucking" and "bogging." Here are some links to help compare/troubleshoot with your problem if it is the 3K hestiation:
