odd parking light problem
Ive searched and searched and been through the FSM and cant find an answer. So heres the problem:
No parking lights/instrument back lights
The headlights will turn on with the switch but they don't flip up unless I push the flip up button.
If I jumper the TNS relay from G/W to R/B then the instrument lights and parking lights all come on fine. I swapped the relay with the retra relay and no dice. Its like the combination switch isn't passing along the trigger voltage to close the relay under the hood. I searched the FSM for where the RED/GREEN/BLACK wires off the headlight side of the column stuff goes but I can only find it going to red.
I figure there must be a common item that's missing here since the headlights don't come up via the combination switch (only with the button on the dash pushed do they come up) but the headlights work with the combination switch.
When I get off work tomorrow Ill get back into it all and see what the opposite side of the x-04 connector wire pinouts are for the RGB wires listed above and see if I can track it all down that way.

ya the grey wire that goes into the TNS from the switch never sees 12V to trigger the TNS relay so i think the supply 12v to the combination switch isnt getting 12v from whereever its supposed to get it from. ill tinker with it tonight

fixed this issue. damn relays. the PO had mounted the front fuse box upside down and it filled up with water.. rusting all the relays. swapped them out with known good ones and back in action.

Water runs down that wire into the box, and pools inside the relays. The relays shed water fine if they're right side up, but upside down and it can get in. It's like the roof of a house, it's just fine to shed water, but if you had a roof upside down you'd be catching water and bringing it in.
Glad you solved it! The other possibility would have been tires rubbing through your wiring harness under the front fender liner.
