odd boost problem

Hey all, I have a 94 RX7 and it is kicking my butt trying to figure out a boost problem it has. The car will go to 5 psi, hold for a couple seconds then drom to 0- I was assuming this is when the secondary is kicking in. To try to help diagnose it, I tied the actuator vlave in the exhaust manifold and the butterfly in the compresor "y" pipe open in an attempt to just run them parallel to see if the problem went away- like that it just holds at 0. I even disconnected the gates to see if the boost would come up and it is still at 0. With the car running in parallel, I get no turbo sounds, nothing. With them hooked back to sequential, I at least have the whistle until it switches over and drops to 0- so I am thinking for some reason they just aren't spooling. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.
Joe
ps- before I get flamed, I have been searching and either am not entering the right phrases or I just can't find anything like this .

to be honest, I have no CEL on- but I never checked to see if there is a bulb in it- I'll see if it comes on when the key is on. How do I pull the codes on this car if there is problem? It "seems" to be running just fine though.

I just got done playing around more- with all the lines removed and capped, the flapper on the exhaust manifold tied open and the wastegate lines completely removed- the car will see a MAX of 5-6 psi on the shifts and run around 3-4 psi after that. I am starting to wonder if a turbo is crapped out- they both appear to be in good working order (I have a lot of experience with turbos in general, so this is the one thing I am almost sure of ), but I am running out of ideas. Can't find a boost leak anywhere either, so that isn't the case. There was a slight leak at the o-ring in the turbo outlet Y pipe, but I replaced the O ring and it is good now. Any other ideas???

Not that anyone really cares, but the problem was stupid and simple- the cat blew apart and was plugging the muffler. I had just gotten the car 2 weeks ago and so I never got to drive it through the "rattling" stage to know it was bad. Oh well, it is usually something simple that causes the biggest headaches.
