HI O2 Sensor Question

If I am buying a LM-1/LM-2 Innovate wideband that comes with an O2 sensor. Do I need to buy another stock O2 sensor or can I just run the one that comes with the wideband? Thanks in advance for the help.

yea, just run the one that comes with it. you can actually just take out the stock 02 in the DP and replace it entirely with the new one you have(if you have a stock DP, if you have a aftermarket one, you may have to get a O2 bung welded in). Its recommended to have the 02 down about a foot from the turbos, but it will be fine is the stock o2 location.

The stock location is too close to the turbos, which will affect accuracy and longevity. The following recommends a distance of at least a meter:

Yea im saying though if he has a stock DP, just put it into the stock location, until he can get a Aftermarket DP. Not worth taking the stock DP out and welding in a new bung, unless you are going to replace it, then yea. It needs to be 1-3 feet from the turbos.

1 foot is way too close, particularly on an FD where post turbo temperatures can be close to 1500F. And since wideband sensors actually measure oxygen content indirectly through a pressure measurement, being too close to the turbos can reduce accuracy.

Pretty good information about placement here too:

i disagree the lc-1 has a narrow band single wire simulator output. so NO you do not have to disable your o2 feedback if wired correctly.
z

course thats if he buys one. i dont know about the LM series.
