O2 install help

My FD just turned 60K and I bought the BOSCH universal O2 sensor. Anyone have any suggestions on the easiest way to reach and change out this thing? What is the easiest way to reach it (below or from above)? What kind of socket do I need? Has anyone put teflon on the threads or is this too hot to put any kind of lube on it?

Your best bet is probably to get underneath the car and remove the belly pan. I haven't had a precat in a while but I don't believe you can even see the O2 sensor from the top. I just put a drop of anti-seize on the threads so it isn't frozen later on. You end up using an open wrench, a socket won't fit over the sensor. Not sure about the size though. 14mm+, it's pretty big. Some good channel locks will work fine.

Go from the top you only have to pull one or two intake hoses out of the way to get to it. Just unplug it near the rear lifting eye and follow the wire down. If you go down to Pep Boys or one of the Auto stores you can get a socket that fits and it makes it a snap. Do put a little antisieze on the threads it will make it easier the next time around.

What about wiring it together? How should that be done?

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks for the advice! The DP is a great idea. I've spent enough money recently on reliability mods. I think the next thing is the aluminum AST then the DP is next!
