O ring

I am having my coolant leaks fixed.
I had had a few overpressure situations where the 13psi cap blew off some steam

Someone said that my O-ring could be bad thus pushing Boost into the water Jacket.

Could this be true? If so. How do I check for this?
The car runs strong and starts easy all the time.

Thanks
Adam

I noticed today (50-60 deg weather), that i turned the car on and VERY THIN white like smoke started coming out of the exhaust. I mean you could barely notice it until you looked real hard...plus there was droplets of water being shot out of the exhaust. This would be condensation right? The smoke went away in less than a minute. Now there is a heavy gas smell coming from the exhaust...but I don't think it smells like coolant. I always thought of coolant as being sweet smelling. Should I rest easy or get the rebuild now? I'm not losing any coolant (the filler neck is full every morning). What do you guys think? Oh and the smoke was very thin, not thick and lingering or anything like that.

Don't worry about it. A little white smoke on cold days is normal condensation. Burning coolant smells like sweet, maple syrup.

I'm not sure about maple syrup but you can definitely smell the sweet scent of coolant in the exhaust.
