Nuts! I'm breaking up in high rpms

Can't figure this one out. The last 2 times I've redlined my car I've got some hesitating at like 5.5K all the way to redline (loss of power). Not sure if my primary turbo is finally on it's last legs, my plugs are failing (about 9K on 8s and 9s NGKs) or my ignition?????? Going to get dyno tuned in July with some new upgraded twins and I'm replacing my plugs with 10.5 racing plugs - no boost leak from what I can see.

The HKS Twin Power Ignition Amplifier did wonders for my upper RPM breakup. Made it soo smooth I hit rev limit a few times the first week due to it being so smooth I was thinking to myself I couldn't have been revving that high, but I was!

Mine sounded a bit whraspy (made that spelling up) and less smooth up top oh, and my dyno graphs had all kinds of up/down jiggers before the HKS.

I used the Jacobs Rotary Pro Pak to fix that problem. Got mine from Rotary Performance.

On your Power FC check the "PIM Voltage" in the settings section. Make sure its on "Normal" not any of the options.

I would have the same problem now and then.Changing plugs usually cured it for a while.
If your running a colder plug than 9s you will need an ign.amp.
On the other hand an ign.amp should cure the problem for good.

I plan on getting an ignition amp - just not sure which one...I've heard that ignition solutions boxes are only $250 and a breeze to install - don't really gain hp but don't lose any at higher boost. I haven't heard much about the Jacob's ignition and I've heard some good stuff about the HKS Twin Power but it's expensive - $400+ I'll be running hybrid upgraded twins with a streetport and all bolt-ons at 15 psi so which ignition box would you guys recommend.....??

I ran NGK 10.5s leading for over a year without an ignition amp.

I would say you need one or the other when you're at the level of mods I have--each car is different, however.

when my R1 was cutting out like that, Dave found that my leading coil was going bad and my spark plug wires were shot. It could also be a tuning issue; too much fuel puts out the spark.

I had a similar problem, but mine started at like 6,500 or so. I replaced the ignition wiring with some RP ones, and put 9s in all the way around in it. Still had the miss, so just for kicks i ran some injector cleaner through it, and it dissapeard. I know its not the right thing to do, but i'm in the process of saving some $$ for a power-fc, some upgraded twins, and a fuel system. When i do all that work, i'll just have the primarys cleaned, and throw some 1200cc in the secondarys. CJ

What have you replaced or have you replaced anything on your FD? You can run our booster on it and try that out. Check out our website @ www.ignitionsolutions.com and read our review by KDR or try contacting KDR or A-SPEC tuning for more information.

Try using some B10EGV plugs with a gap of .020

There are alot of single turbo guys running this plug and at $7.50 a plug you cant go wrong!!! Rice Racing among others recommended me these plugs and i really liked them. You need to be running at LEAST 9's all the way around but those B10EGV's are cheaper and better(for high boost) than 9's.

yes... because thats a sure sign of miss-firing, and thats not good. you can run our product on your 7 and boost your OEM ignition to create stronger spark from 1000 all the way through 10000 RPMs. give me a call @ our office with the toll free # and ask for PJ or check out or site for more info, number and address is down below.
