Check this car out... man, that's a lot of carbon fiber! I've seen CF hoods, but a front bumper?! It's cool, in a unique kind of way.

Yeah pouya was going to get C-West replica kits custom made out of carbon fiber for 2800.00, should be something about it still in the group buy section, should be under "low cost aero kits" or something like that..

That's my boy's car. He is on this forum, but he never post on this forum. He has about 5 post since last year. His car looks so much better in real life than that pic.

Now I remember what it reminds me of... the HKS Altezza! CF isn't for everybody, but I have to admit I like the look alot, especially with the RE Amemiya headlights. I like the look a lot better than if you had a chameleon-chromacolor paintjob, but that's just my taste.
As for being really expensive in the event of a fender bender, I guess he would have the option to just go back to his normal bumper.
Black99, do you have a URL for that group buy thing? Thanks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there two ways of putting carbon fiber together? I know race cars with CF chassis are baked at high temps and that makes them pretty much hard as rock. CF hoods and presumably this front bumper are just glued together right? How "hard" are they, say compaired to fiberglass? In a fender bender would the CF bumper get damaged?

In a fender bender situation any front end will get damaged(I don't care of what is made of). So CF front =$$$ for repairs, if so.

I have seen that car in person at that show and in my opinion it is to much cause that CF is a contrast to the rest of the car. Well probably the owner want to show off the CF part of it. I think the only CF that would looks good on the car having the whole car in CF or a wing, hood etc... but front bumper, door, and quarter panel in CF is just doesn't look right.

why do people feel the need to flaunt all their CF parts? IMO CF is fugly and very tacky looking if left unpainted. get it for its weight saving properties and strength, not so you can show off how much more CF you got then the civic next to you at the car show.... better yet im going to get custom carbon fiber fenders, doors, front bumper, and hatch, redo the entire interior in CF, get CF seats with CF looking apolstry, hell ill even CF out the entire engine bay and have the first 70% CF'd 240sx. i bet id be on the cover of Import Tuner for sure....

What I'm talking about is that 'energy' has to go somewhere. If the carbon holds (doesn't break) the crumple zone has been 'removed' from the car. The 'energy' has to travel somewhere and that would be to the rest of the chassis.
BTW I'm not trying to be a killjoy it's just something to consider from a safety point of view.

That is extremely ugly.
I mean, the new Lambo is almost all CF, you don't see it running around naked.
It amazes me to see how much money people spend to make their FD look like ****.
