Not the Map sensor, so what else?

My car today, started running real bad. Won't idle, have to keep gas pushed to keep it running, has little power but still drives. I was and hour and a half from home so I had to drive it, and I hade to drive in 4th gear the whole way since it doesn't have enough power to run in 5th. It's a 94 with only 34k on the original engine, and no mods except DP. Please don't tell me an apex seal went on an unmodified FD with only 34k on it.

Do you have a boost gauge to tell what kinda vaccum your pulling? Could be so many things so just going through 1 at a time. There should be many threads on this so just search through those too.

Do a compression test.

I have a boost guage, but it's hard to tell what vacuum it's pullomg at idle, because like I said, it won't idle, it basically does a glub, glub, glub and dies. I know a compression test is the obvious choice, but it's sunday and mothers day, and I don't want to bother any of my friends that would have a compression guage on Mothers day. Anything else I could look at? I thought maybe the map sensor just had gone bad, but if that were the case, i wouls assume I could disconnect the electrical plug to it, and it would run the same, right? But when i disconnect the electrical plug, it dies right away. I looked under the UIM with a flshlight and don't see anything obvious popped off.

I would do a search, but it's hard to searhc for symptoms.
