What's the best way to check if 1300cc RC Engineering injs are working?
I bought them about a year ago and finally got around to installing them.
Since there have been stories abound with these injectors failing, what is the best way to test if they are working and can I soak them in some kinda cleaning solution such as brake cleaner or injector cleaner?

If you want to check if they're firing alternately then you will need to put them in your primary fuel rail and crank you car over and watch if they are shooting good.
If you just want to check them for flow and see if they are actually opening then you can leave them in your secondary rail, jumper the fuel pump through the diagnostic plug, attach two wires to the injector pins using two female connectors of appropriate size put one to + and the other to - on the battery, doesn't matter which way round, disable ignition (sparks) then switch ignition on and watch them flow.
Of course this is easier said than done especially if you still have the rats nest and stock lines.
BTW i forgot to mention you will need to pull the rails out to see the injectors spraying hehe, otherwise you won't see ****.
Lastly if you want the easiest way then you can just connect them to the battery direct using two wires as above and listen if they click each time you connect and disconnect a wire.
This is a good indication that they are at least opening and closing and is easy if you still have them out.
Whatever you do remember to disconnect your ignition and use a suitable container to catch the fuel, it can really spray all over the place.

RC lifetime warranties their injectors. Just call them up and tell them that you need to have a set of RC's checked and they'll do it for free. That's the best way to find out for sure.
I had an RC 440cc injector go bad on me once awhile back. It would go static (wide open) at around 75% duty cycle. A simple on-off test would not have shown this. RC replaced the injector for free. I've always talked to a guy there named John.

it will only turn them on to 20% injector duty cycle when you try to start it like that, testing it the other way (by hot wiring them) should work
good luck and have fun gettign to the primary fuel injector (its a real bitch to not break anything)
if you can, get your hands on an extra rail and run a fuel line from the hose near the oilfilter to pressurize it.

Cranking duty cycle is approximately 2% not 20%.

Most good repair shops use a tool called an injector pulser that is battery operated(usually) and once plugged in to the injector will "Buzz" it to make sure the pintle is not stuck. The only way to make sure an injector is clean is to flow test it to make sure it is making it's specified flow rate. That can only be done off car on a unit like an ASNU machine or an injector dyno.
An ASNU can clean, test for flow and visually check spray patterns at 10 different duty cycles. Check out www.lindertech.com

Oh yes, I forgot, if your drivability tech has a piece of equipment like a "Labscope", he can look at the injector wave form on the scope display and can tell by the amount of pintle bounce (a kind of notch) in the pulse wave form from the injector, how clean the injector is.
This is the kind of diagnostic we use to tell how clean the injectors are while the car is running.
