I think its he's using a cheap way of letting colder air get to the engine compartment for heat reduction and to the intake area. I have diffinintly never seen someone cut into the hood like that, majority of guys go ahead and my nice carbon fiber hoods that have ducts in place to perform the same task i noted above, letting colder air into the engine compartment and the throttle body

seems like the higherr mounted engine look comes from forgoing the necessary cradle and transmission adjustments to properly fit the 20b in. i have seen both of pettit's cars in person, and a hand of other 20b cars, and trust me, they did NOT look like this one.....

I like the paint actually. Def different. I hate the kit and the wheels though.
As for the whole in the hood. Could it be that fabricated his own setup to get it in there and give him max. ground clearance? I would think theoretically that a 20B installed how pettit or pfs installs them would have the same ground clearance as a 13B so there would no reason to mount the motor higher or make it sit higher for ground clearance reasons. But I could be wrong. Maybe he made his own mounting system for the motor and fucked up somewhere.
And that motor is def sitting way too high to me. No 20B installs I have seen have problems clearing the hood.

I think the guy is going for the ricer look on the car, and i could of done a better job on the hood than he did even though i don't know anything about it, this is truly an insult to the FD

aaaand we have successfully located what IMO is one of the all time worst looking FDs........I hate that spoiler.........hate it hate it hate it hate it............hood doesnt help the looks but i do like the paint job. Only worse FD I have seen of late is that green/blue one on ebay with the yellow spoiler and yellow things painted on the sides.........eeeesh

Why would this person dump alot of money into a 20B conversion and do it 1/2 a$$!! IMO. I have seen two 3rotors and got to ride in phil hamlins 3 rotor and let me tell ya that car will make you crap right in you pants!! bring a spare pair of underwear.... also, the fittment was just the same as stock height!! the majority of the problem is the lenght of the motor. two choices cut the firewall or move the sterring wheel rack and screw the handling up because the 3rd rotor sets too far forward and basically changes the way the whole car feels...
