Question Normal working temp on a 3rd gen rx7?

Hi, what is the normal operating water temp for a 3rd gen RX7?

Mi water temp gauge reads 98 celcius about 208 farenheit. Is this normal? I have a fluydine radiator.

If I turn the fans on the temp lowers to 80 celcius about 176 farenheit.

please let me know. thanks

it should NEVER go about 110C. if it does you're having major problems. it SHOULD be above 80C for it to be warm enough to be in normal operating range. these temps are for the stock sensor location between the rotors.

I'd say high 80's low 90's is perfectly normal...I know when I get my datalogit I will program the fans to come on at 88C...

I personally think 98 is on the highside...it's within reason...but high for normal crusing around..

Yep, 176F is almost exactly at the thermostat opening temp, I see around that when moving, and low speed fans come on at 221F, so I'd say normal operating temp is between 180F-220F or so. If you're going over 230F you're having problems, because you should never need more than medium speed (226F) to cool down the car. Over 250F and the car is toast.

98C this time of the year?

98C sounds on the high side for winter weather conditions, but still within the acceptable operating range. I know that I have been running around 85C (185F) with the outside temperature around 50F. Are you in Florida or somewhere with warm weather this time of year?

You should keep a close eye on on your temperature as the weather gets warmer and especially when you start using your air conditioner.

Low speed fans turn on at 230F, way to high. Install the miata thermoswitch so fans will come on at 207F and shut down at 194F perfect temp range for FD. I think this makes a huge differance in the long run toward extending engine life plus adding a upgraded radiator.

On stop and go traffic the highest mine goes is 95, usually it's at 91-89 and HWY cruising it drops to 85 ish. And the winters in Miami are just about as hot as the summers...

Normal operating temp. for me is 81-83 Celsius w/ fans on. I'm using a Koyo radiator and lower-temp. thermostat. Never seen it go beyond 95. I would try the Miata theroswitch mod just for added security. I plan on doing this soon.
