When my fans come on when the car is at idle, the engine slows down when the fans come on, when i look in the engine department when the fans come on the engine shakes when the fans turn on, is this normal? should it be a concern?

I noticed that mine does that too, I doubt it's a problem. I mean, when the fans kick on it just draws more power from the engine, so the idle goes down... Comes back up to compensate. It's the same reason why your idle rpms will drop when you pop on the AC.

Only thing that bothers me about it is that it makes my hood rattle.

My engine rpms will drop a lil too - sometimes all the way to 600 when the fans kick on. I don't think this is a problem. No rattling hood though.

man! my car does the exact same thing. fans kick in and if the ac is on the rpm will go all the way down to 600. i think i am gonna put my idle up to 950 1000rpm, so i have some juice in my idle even at the instance when the fans kick in with the ac being on.

My idle is set at 760... I dont have any problems

when exactly do the fans come on? someitmes mine will come on after hard driving and sometimes they dont...?
