Question noob question: Stock intake and full exhaust?

I just upgraded from a TurboII with all the goodies installed to a '94 White PEP FD. Car is bone stock with the exception of a blitz catback. I'm getting ready to perform the reliability mods on it starting out with an HKS DP I just bought. Replacing the cat with a "test pipe" crossed my mind since I was going to be installing the DP but was not sure if its a good idea. Will the car run lean with stock intake box/filter, DP, MP and catback? I figured it wouldnt be a good idea but I was bored and decided to ask anyways Thanks.

If you install a mid pipe you should be thinking about getting a upgrade ECU such; PFC, Pettit or m2

Oh yeah I forgot, you can also just get a fuel computer and remapped it to run rich. Then you won't have to worry about it running lean.
Pettit and m2 makes has a good rep of fuel comp.

Stick with the 3 mod rule to be on the safe side, intake, DP, cat back. then get a Power FC. We dont want any blownup engines now do we?

Thanks guys, I guess my instinct was right I'll just stick with the good 'ol cat until I get some more fuel in there.
Blown engines on FCs is OK since you can go to the junkyard and get parts for cheap. Blown engines on FDs = become a male hooker for a rebuild.
