Noise when down shifting
Hey fellow FD owners,
The seal on my drive shaft is leaking (getting fixed soon) and wanted to know if this is the cause of the noise/sound I get when I let go of the clutch when down shifting?
Thanks in advance.

Example - in third going down to second and take my foot of the clutch it makes like a grrrrr sound only for a second and sometimes does it when into third and taking my foot of the clutch also... but only sometimes when going into a gear.

I doubt it's the source of the noise.
Any noise that occurs when you let off the clutch would have to be related to the clutch/pilot/input shaft bearing. The driveshaft and its seal do not change speed when you're releasing the clutch, since they are always rotating with the rear wheels, and the rear wheels never change speed abruptly.
