Noise from short shifter?

I just wanted to say thanks to whomever posted about using dynamat to silence syncro whine and other gearbox noise from the shifter area. I applied some spare Super Dynamat to the shifter stalk as well as the top portion of the gearbox housing, noise is greatly reduced. Thanks!

nice, i just installed my second b&m shifter after a couple of months..funny thing is that this feels better than my last one..idk why, maybe the other one was a defect? well anyway the throws are DEF shorten, hard to tell what gear im in lol

ill try that dynamat since im getting a whisting noise as im revving so hopefully it quiets the sound down..

Does anybody elses short shifter rattle a little bit if you let go of it and hit the gas? Mine rattles in fourth and fifth. If I put my hand on it and push it forward a little bit in fourth or pull it back a little in fifth or if I don't touch it and just let off the gas it'll stop.

Mine does slightly in those same gears with my ebay special. I can feel a little play in the shifter. I just put in a new bushing about 2 months ago(2nd one in two years). While installing the new bushing, I noticed that the old nylon bushing shrank. That's why mine rattles. I may go with the aluminum bushing next time.

I figured it was the bushings but I just wanted to check and see if maybe someone who did the dynamat had the same problem and it reduced it... thanks.
