No Secondary Boost - Please advise.
Hi guys..
Just rebuilt motor on a series 6 FD. Everything is completely stock and break in complete. Motor is running very strong and pulling good vacuum. I have full boost on the primary all the way to 4500 rpms.
Now, at transition, boost immediatly falls off and only holds about .2 bar. I have attached a short datalog of a run which demonstrates this.
Finally, just at the stage of removing the UIM - all vacuum hoses were replaced during the rebuild and everything looks good (none pinched or damaged).
The series 6 has the "99 black box" as it is referred to here - i.e. the box that replaces the rats nest. I'm a bit stumped since everything looks good and there is no english manual for this series FD.
Hoping somebody with experience might chime in with troubleshooting suggestions...

We think that it's "tired" solenoids. Start with the Turbo Control Actuator solenoid and see if that doesn't help. If the solenoid is bad, you'll either have to clean it out or get a new one.

There are many possible reasons, but most likely is simply a hose hooked up incorrectly. The fact that the engine accessories were removed makes that the smoking gun.
Check to see if your turbo control actuator lines or charge control actuator lines are not crossed, and your check valves are pointing the right direction. The KOKO test is not a bad test to run, the details are here: http://www.fd3s.net/boost_test.html
The black box is basically the same thing as the previous models, except some of the solenoids are simply wadded together. Although the hose diagram doesn't look the same, you can use it to check the vacuum lines starting at the actuators and working back toward the rats nest.

Thanks guys.. some great pointers there.. I am going to check these things now and will get back to you.
It's just a bit difficult to go through a process of elimination when you are unsure whats what on that "black box". If somebody has any detail on this it would be much appreciated.
