yeah, napa sells it, if you can found one that has it in stock at $32 for 3oz. vasoline is a great alternative if used on seals, for gasket making use RTV black or copper

Hylomar is a sealant, vasoline is a lubricant. They are not interchangeable for use when rebuilding a rotory engine. They are used in different places.

Vasoline is used on the water seals for the housings. It or fresh oil is used for the other oil seals.

Fresh oil is used to lube the housing surfaces where the apex or side seals rub.

Hylomar is used for the sealing areas between the housings where there is no gasket. Or use special silicone sealant.

One tube of hylomar can be used to buils a few engines.

I have always used vasoline with no problems.

I also use silicon black for the engine stack and grey for the pan.

I brought a few tubes back from the UK due to the scare. It appears Permatex stopped carrying it, but the Hylomar web site says you can e-mail them for info on where to get it, presumably including the US. http://www.hylomar.co.uk/

Or try here http://www.valco-cp.com/catalog_category.aspx?cat_id=9
