no leading spark and dying cat noise.

right out of the blue i was re initializing my power fc to re learn the idle and after it learned it i cut the car off and restarted and it wouldnt idle or rev past 3000 and was super rough from 0 to 3000 rpm. i cut the car off and left the key in the on position and i heard a loud squealing sound from around the coil area. tested the spark and i have no leading but i do have trailing spark. i tested the wires and they were about 4 k ohms over the recommended resistance. made some new MSD wires and still no spark.

check your coils, and the signal wires going to the coils. the connector at the short harness can often have broken wires.

To test you can simply switch the signal wires around at the coils to determine if its the coil or something before the coils.
since you have spark on the Trailing, take the trailing signal wire and plug it into the leading coil, if you now have spark @ leading then the coil is fine, and it must be the wires or something before it gets to the coil.

lol yeah thats about the only words i can put this sound i heard into. i just went and tested the coil and between L1 and L2 and the resistance was 20k. the specs are 9.6 to 16k ohms. does this mean the coil is blown?

IAC is in that area, which could affect your idle. Don't know if it would also cause problems trying to rev to 3k though.

One thing to think about. It's colder out now and resistance values change. As long as you have continuity I would assume that it's good. But lord knows I've been wrong before...

still no spark and starting to get pissed.

so im learning my cars idle after i just put a fresh rebuild in i was letting the car run for a little while and letting it do its thing, and i cut the car off went inside to get some food then came back out and the car didnt start. im getting no spark on either the trailing or leading pulgs. i have a brand new leading coil, new wires and plugs. i tested for power where the coil harness plugs into the main ignition harness and only the top left wire was putting out any power and that was a 12V constant. the only thing i can think of is my coils are just sitting on top of my motor right now because i took the brakets out went i went single, does it need to be bolted up for a ground?

Does your coil harness have a ground lug going to one of the coil bracket studs? It really is not a good idea to just let your coils bounce around under the UIM, bolt them dowm. We disassemble the stock solenoid brackets and use the original mounting for the coils on single turbo cars.
