No jerk at 4500rpm

Is there anybody like me who can't really feel the jerk at 4500rpm? My '93 FD is all stock. Had a problem with not enough boost some time back, but Rick's Rotary installed a boost controller (EVC IV) to bypass the problem. He told me that it makes 10-8-10 now and the reading on the EVC IV says the same thing.

But I thought you should really be able to feel your 2nd turbo kick in at 4500rpm. Well, my car just sort of goes silent at the transition. Any ideas?

Have you checked for any vacuum leaks?

Why are you complaining? The idea is to NOT have an abrupt transition!

Most of the time, it's when you start raising boost above 10 psi that the transition gets a little more abrupt. What kind of mods do you have?

He did type it was all stock
In mine i could always feel at least a little jolt, 1st thing to check would be for vacuum leaks.

Yeah, I missed the "all stock" on the quick reread.

If his gauge is showing a 10-8-10 pattern with a quick recovery at transition, nothing is wrong.

Yes. It's supposed to be a smooth transition. That's what Rick's Rotary told me. But I test drove one other FD before and that one seemed to have a kick at 4500rpm. I'm just not 100% sure that mine is performing as it should. Maybe I can test drive some other FD or somebody can drive my car to see how it feels.

I wouldn't call it a "jerk." Like what's in the buyer's guide / faq, it should feel like a "smooth surge of power."
