no heater core now crazy fogging

hey guys, got any suggestions for how i can stop the crazy fogging up of the windows. My heater core blew and ive bypassed it for now so i can drive it around.

but it fogs up and wont seem to clear up. When theres a oncoming car it disperses the light all over the window and i cant see ****!!!!

Do you have a/c? Running the a/c will remove the humidity and thus the fog.

there is going to be coolant in the heater/evap case. it is getting on your windows and fogging up. if you dont take the case out it may take a while for the coolant to evaporate and quit sliming your windshield

Yeah, antifreeze makes a BIG old mess on the windshield. My '90 convertible has had heater core problems, and it is amazing how bad antifreeze can fog up a window.

If it's gonna be a while until you change the heater core, flush the core out with water to get the antifreeze out of there - might need to turn the heater On so it opens the heater core fully. Then, get some good glass cleaner and thoroughly clean the inside of the window. Good to go.

But, I would definitely do the heater core before it really starts getting cold. Much more pleasant to do that job when the weather is nice than when you actually need the heater.

well the core leaked right? so the coolant that was held in the core is now in the case. and it is being blown/evaporated by the blower motor and is sliming the window.

^^^What he sasid.. I have my 94 heater core if you want it. I have it out for good. You will need to remove the dash to get to it for replacement. pretty easy to do. Make me an offer for the core and it's yours I have no need for it and don't think it is really worth it weight in poop
