NO GO just before half throttle?
NO GO just before half throttle?
i took off this morning and if i get anywhere close to half throttle the engine cuts out. its not fuel... its not spark, because im getting fuel all the way through the RPM range. the only time it does this is when i want the gas on demand (half throttle). also when im cruising down the expressway and i take it to the point where it cuts out, it will cut out then back on then cut out then back to normal... braaapp.....dead....braaaapp.... dead. there is no limit on the rpms it cuts out just certain throttle. i was thinking maybe TPS. can anyone confirm this?
for some reason mine was backfirering and i thought it was my tps. but i was removing my throttle body and my main coil was burnt on te side.. small part of it.. check your coils and check the voltage on the tps...
i checked tps voltage its good on all the wires except the narrow sweep which is the green and black wire. i get 5 volts to all the points except that one which reads about 16.7 mili volts, not millivolts mili, as in very very low voltage practically nothing. at one point i got it to read 1.87 volts, i think somewhere the connection is bad, along with resistance in the line. i need to figure out where the connection is bad, and where my other 3 volts went to. im thinking about cutting the wire and running a jumper from the ECU connect point and the point on the tps connector, pretty much making a new path... but if thats not my exact problem i just wasted a **** load of time.... any opinions?
I had a bad plug wire, and it caused a big dropoff in power at about 1/3 throttle. There were no specific symptoms other than that. It idled and ran fine as long as you didn't exceed that throttle opening. Even when the power dropped off it did not feel like a "miss," so it fooled me. I thought it was some sort of boost malfunction. Replacing the plug wire fixed it.
