no boost :\

after taking my 3rd gen from winter storage i found out it has no boost anymore. i found a broken plastic intake part on a solenoid valve and i glued it back together and reattached the hose to it (the 3rd from the left if it matters), but that dind't help things out. the boost starts at 0 and goes in the negative range (ie vacuum) very slowly over 20 min or so of driving, upto 10 inches Hg or so (but it's erratic, sometimes it goes to 14, sometimes it stops at 10). under hard acceleration, no boost is felt and the boost needle does not move. what worries me is that not only do i not have boost, but that the vacuum increases slowly, irrespective of how hard the car is pushed. i expected a constant vacuum without turbos working, no ?

my question is, what could be wrong ? i'm a newbie so any answers will be appreciated. i think it's the turbo control system. could the turbos themselves be damaged ?

also, i'm looking for a good 3rd gen mechanic in the Toronto area, any tips welcome.

thanks for any help!
