Newbie Question.....VR R1?
Hey guys I am totally new to the RX7 scene and I was wondering what the VR stands for when someone says a 93 VR R1 RX7. Anyone able to help me out with that? Thanks guys
VR is the color code, aka vintage red.
the R1 is the model. Its the "performance model" which basically equates to dual-oil coolers, stiffer suspension, cloth/suede seats, lip spoiler and the R1 spoiler.
Here's a pic of my 94 Touring model in VR, w/ the R1 rear spoiler.

It is short hand for Mazda's word color designation, BB=Brilliant Black, CYM=Competition Yellow Mica, MB=Montego Blue, CW=Chaste White, VR=Vintage Red not sure about the short hand for silver but you get the point
