Newbie here!
What's up everyone!? I'm a newbie here and wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I'm picking up my 93 R1 tonight and I'm sure I will need all the help I can get from you guys since the car is an eye sore with alot of little problems. So you will be seeing me around alot now. I went thru this forum and it seems to be one of the better RX7 resources. Can't wait to get to know more of you. Talk to you soon!

REPOST!!!!!
wait.... i'm so used to being in the lounge and seeing old things and getting to say that..... *sigh*.....
Welcome aboard. Study up... A LOT! And always remember "Search" is your friend, not your enemy! Make sure to get compression tests and check everything out, boost, tires, coolant, etc. And under NO circumstances if within 150 miles of a rotary tuner do you EVER take it to a Mazda Dealer!.....
I still say this is a repost.... *sigh*

Yah I'm worried about it having more problems the I could visually see. But my spirits are high. He dropped in a pretty fresh rebuild from Atkins with 2 piece 2mm seals and a street port in 01 and he barely drove the thing after that. He claims about 9k on the engine but i'm assuming there's at least 20ish on it. I'm going to drive it home like a little girl and do a minor tune up like oil and most fluids and have it inspected by a rotary specialist before I go any further. Any suggestions on what else I can do once I get it home that wont require too much mechanical effort that is important?
Define too much mechanical effort. If you have air tools, jacks, and an engine hoist, it won't take much at all
fuel filter
spark plugs
coolant flush (drain and replace, don't use any method involving tap water)
air filter
tranny gear oil, diff gear oil (check the recent thread on Neo Synth)
check all boost hose couplers
tire pressure, rotation
bleed brakes
If you're tolerant of moderate complexity:
hose job
replace coolant hoses* (not that hard, do it when replacing coolant)
