Talking New Twin Masterpower 600whp project 13b

Heres a pic of our new twin turbo project. hp goal is 600whp with max responce this is why we went for twins.
pics just shows first turbo fitted.
Engine is full bridge, turbos are masterpower T-300/T04E.

the turbos look small but combined should flow enough for 800+hp and the combined area of the turbines are comparable to most gt42 turbines so should flow very well.

tomorrow I should have the second turbo fitted properly so should start looking agressive.

hm not sure were we will be able to fit the wastegate yet?

Very cool. I am toying with doing this myself. Do you have any pics of the manifold etc.

Did you decide on the turbo trims or somebody else ?

I have come up against a wall with pricing mine.

Haha, yea were not to sure about the pink colour either. the car was painted buy original owner, we will respray candy blue after all engine bay work is finished.

yea i choose the turbo specs, this is the first 13b twin we have done. I think most people go to big when selecting twins.

these are 50trim to4e they have very good effeciency at 1.5bar-2bar. thir is were the boost will be to make the power, and at that level of boost the flow map seems right for the 600whp. also the mp t-300 stg 3 turbines seem small and is basicaly a t3/t4 combo but combined they are larger than gt Q trim wheel and similer size to some gt42-45 trims. so should be more than enough exhaust flow.

Ill take some more pics of the manifold when the second header is on. Although this will not be a pritty s/s polished item. It is made from steam pipe steel and will be rapped up in exhaust tape.
basically im more focused on gentle bends for max hp flow and nothing about beauty.

You might as well mount a temp gauge on the steering column

I was more interesred in the exhaust housings. I am fairly un initiated in turbo flow and design. would you need smaller hot side trims ie 0.60 or larger 1.0 + for a twin. I am taking into account that each rotor will flow each turbo.

very cheap, How mechanicaly minded are you?

The engine was in great condition when i pulled it down, so just the basic rebuild kit was needed and balance check.
As for the turbos we all know that masterpower is one of the most cost effect performance options available.
And as for the manifold its just steel pipe, you can see from the photos it just straight pipe that i drop sawed sections to create the desired bend i wanted. this all makes for a very cost effective turbo manifold setup. although the expensive ecu and msd ignition is still to come.

give me a pm for pricing a twin setup for you, Ill be able to give you a very gd price on the turbos

The only way to know for sure is to try one option first and from the results I can make a more accurate choice next time.

I do know that the mp t-300 stg3 turbine wheel will have more flow than a stock s4/5 ht18s turbine. But the ht18s will probably have better leverage or boost response over the mp t-300 stg3 wheel. the fc3s turbos have been tried as twins before and work well but proved to be laggy until 4-5000 rpm on 13b with there .84ar housings, This is why I decided on the .63ar housing. I would have preferred the .7ar but this is only available as a divided housing by Masterpower so would have been no good for this twin setup.
Plus im more than happy to loss 10% power by running smaller ar if I can have much better boost response.

All in all I think were on the money, I pretty sure I have plenty exhaust flow so not to chock the power to much, and the compressors have enough flow combined for aprox 800hp.

Project update

Hi guys, well not much as happened since last posts, The painters have had the car for 3 months so didnt give us much time to work with it, But at least its not Pink anymore.

A 6 point roll cage has been fitted now, and we have decided to go for a bit more of the wow facter on the turbo side, so antisurge housing have been used with smallest T-series compressor t-56.

Next week the plumbing and wiring will be well on it way to completion.

i just bumped into your thread and am happy to see another twin setup.

i have over 10,000 miles on mine and after approx 3 years of development it is producing exactly what i envisioned.

see thread (single turbo section) entitled "80% pump.... 20% methanol", page 12, thread #168 for the metrics. see thread entitled "5000 miles on twin TO4s" in the single turbo section for a picture.

good luck
