actually no......the 99s ran high 13s because of a pinch in the exhaust that reduced their HP to 300 not the stated 320 HP. The 01s Cobras run mid to low 13s. Best shown by my friend beating a stock auto C5 vette from a STOP by 1.5 cars in his STOCK 01 Cobra with nearly bald stock tires. The new 2003 Cobras are said to have 390 HP but Ford underrated them and then typically dyno at 380-385RWHP. They will run low 12s high 11s with just a Lightning pulley. Less than a 100 dollar mod.

 

They did! SVT is having some serious problems with engines!!! They are supposed to pick up production some time in mid November but not in time for end of the year 03's, they will be 04's.

Their will be no 04 Cobra's. They are going to make 03s all the way through 03. Then introduce the new Stang in 04 and introduce the new Cobra in 05. They will skip the 04 Cobra model year.

They stoped production because they want to deliver a Quality car. I actually give them credit for halting the production vs releasing a bad car. It's an intercooler issue anot a motor issue. The cooler is the same as a lightning's (water to air) and it's leaking. It's been resolved and they are starting production in Nov because they are putting miles on their test mule with the fixed intercooler. They want to make sure it's really working correctly.

 

I watch this guy at the track run 12.9 with a 2.0 60'. He changed the pulley and ran 12.4. He broke his half-shaft though.

 

I stand corrected, I read the information off a street racers' forum here in KC and the link to Ford motorsport just said "due to engine related difficulties, production will resume mid November"
