New review posted of Tripower gauge pod
Hey guys -
Now that I've got some money, time to start in on the FD again
Just bought a Tripower dual gauge pod (gotta love a Dual pod from a Tri company
) and wrote up a review -

This sucker is TOP NOTCH. I gave it a 9 out of 10.
I've got a BUNCH of things I'll be working on and documenting this weekend, so hopefully Monday I'll be banging out updates and new writeups on the site.
Enjoy!

I've had one for sometime now and like it very much. It looks classy and fits the look of the interior. IMO the center speaker 3 gauge pod offered elsewhere doesn't look right in the car.
I originally had an a-pillar boost gauge but I find the center location much easier and more comfortable to check, along with the fact that most people swear it's factory.

Nice review on the tripower pod.
I've had both the tripower and the one from flyrx7 (3 gauges) I preferred the one from flyrx7 since its very heavy made and should outlast the car

Did you get one of those recently and where did you get it from? I have been waiting months for a shipment from Tripower and from what they have told me they are not sure they will be making them anymore.
Thanks
Jason
Had one and sold it unused because they don't work at all w/ Defi gauges. Because of its "staggered" design, you will have to remove the bezels for the gauges to fit, and I found this unacceptable because they are an integral part of the way the gauges look.
Plus, $100 just for a handful of plastic???

Bunch of questions!
I ordered the pod straight from Tripower off their site on a Sunday. Had a shipping confirmation on Monday, and had the pod by Wednesday or Thursday. No problems whatsoever.
I seriously doubt you could run 2 60mm gauges in the pod. I had to SERIOUSLY cut the pod to get the 1 60mm gauge in, and I think you'd have a major interference problem for 2 60mm gauges.
Yeah, $99 is pricey for a bit of plastic. Thing is, making the mold and everything for a plastic piece is VERY expensive, but each copy is cheap. Since they are probably only making a relatively small quantity of these pods, they have to break the cost of the mold over the production run.
Removing the center speaker is a cinch - you just pry up on the grill from the front and it pops off. The speaker is held in with screws - unscrew it, and unplug the speaker. Piece of cake. Running the wiring up to the gauges is pretty tricky, though, but not impossible. Might be easier on a '93 with no passenger airbag.
As far as mods on my car, it's still pretty close to the way I got it
. Downpipe and cat-back, but I added the Knight Sports boost controller to keep boost just where I want it at 10psi
.
Thanks for all the good comments on the review! I gotta get my digital camera when I go home for lunch to post a few new writeups on the site

"Tri-Power assured me that the pod could be Dremeled out to fit the larger gauge, but you'd be pressing your luck to run 2 60mm gauges in the pod. I have to concur - I had to do some SERIOUS cutting to get the 60mm gauge in there."
On another note, Has anyone else owned or seen in person both theflyrx7 tri-pod and this dual-pod?

The problem with running the two 52mm defi gauges is because the defi D-gauges have a removable bezel on them. The gauges themselves will fit fine but the bezel won't be able to fit all the way onto the right hand side gauge. Dunno about the BF's though.
