With a little gas it starts and will stay running as long as I keep my foot on the gas. As soon as I let off it dies Any ideas what to check?

I took the TPS off when installing all my blockoff plates... could that have anything to do with it?

YES If the throttle position was changed. May want to try resetting it. Check one of the rx7 web sites I'm sure there are some good tips on resetting it.

Does it run ok otherwise? You may just need to adjust the throttle stop and air screws.

Kinda sounds like a vacuum leak.... maybe double-check things, or have a friend keep it above 1k while you listen for leaks?

Yes... by removing that, the computer has no way to adjust the idle.

In my experience, vacuum leaks, unless they are very very bad, generally lead to a high idle.

sounds like an unadjusted, thrown back in throttle cable...you know you can adjust that thing without screws, it's two nuts that control it's tension

How would a misadjusted throttle cable cause it to not idle? If anything, it would cause a high idle.

Go into the etc screen and turn off IDL/IGN control, don't worry about the ISC. I removed mine and it actually idles better than before, you just have to manually set your idle.. it takes a while tweaking here and there over time. It sounds like your throttle plates may be adjusted too far closed, open them up and let it idle a bit high and work it back down.. or back off the air bleed screw.
