New Pics, Lets Start Wiring....(TEC3)

Well we finally got to the point where we can start wiring up the car and get closer to the day she actually moves on her own power Demetrios and I should hopefully finish her up this up and coming week and then she goes to the fab shop for some minor welding needs we can't do just yet. Here are some pics of the first steps, laying and labelling out all the wires and then the wires that are not being used are being stripped from the harness to make it cleaner and less bulky.

Interesting choice for Intake manifold. Who designed it? I myself used a 13B-RE Cosmo manifold with a 20B throttle body to be "different".

Nice manifold. But AUS/NZ tuners have been cranking that sort of thing out (and done WAY better (multi IDA TBs)) for a long while now.

its the old style jay-tech manifold. you can get them from me. or the new style ones..... www.KGParts.com
clayne: you are right that this manifold is nothing new. its been around for many years.... has been running car into the 7's for a while...
new manifold to come out soon uses the same idea as an IDA and feeds all 4 ports with the primary butterflies on a dominator. the secondaries fuel runners for a semi PP. (secondary and primary fuel diferent runners, and the motor "turns into" a semi PP in upper rpms... kinda hard to explain, but it is BADASS... )
looks good Joe! its about time you stared wiring that thing up.

Thanks guys for all the compliments and as soon as we get some more work done I will post some more pics and let you know when she takes her first breathe of air.

clayne, to each his own I always say, I really haven't seen this setup at all on a full weight street car yet but then again I don't live on this board so its possible and if you could name for me the AUS/NZ tuner that has made 760 RWHP on gas with their so called "WAY BETTER" setup I would love to know?

Keith bring your *** down here and help me get those injectors in right

Joe

I've actually never seen that manifold design before, but I love the way it looks! Too bad I finished up my cosmo **** or I would have gone this route I guess I'll have to do this when I go bridgeport

Typically AUS/NZ folks will go 20B, 12A, 13BPP, or 13G. They've already done what USDM hasn't done yet, and are already working on RENESIS transplants/modifications and 4-rotor applications using custom-manufactured eccentric shafts.

Can't find you a 700+ rwhp, but I can find you a 1400+ rwhp 20B:

Well those are some nice pics that you cut and pasted from obviously someone elses website which is cool but show me what YOU have done yourself with YOUR car not the biggest AUS/NZ tuners out there like I said with a 2 rotor on gas in street trim. I am working on my car in a home garage on 4 jack stands with hand tools so I guess I'm doing ok for what I have turned out considering I have only been in the RX7/rotary club less then a year now. Funny you posted those pics of those beautifully crafted 3 rotor cars because my next project is a 3 rotor as well and already started buying my parts like subframe and motor so I'll have my own pics of my own 3 rotor shortly that I will be glad to post as soon as the project gets underway all I need now is a rolling chasis so if anyone knows of one for sale with a good deal let me know.

t51,

Point taken man. My point however was that there are more advanced setups out there and they are not all being done by multi-million dollar tuner shops. ITBs, and not just an increased bore manifold, are going to yield a large advantage on their own. You have TEC3, you should be able to take advantage of it too.

As for mine, it's still being worked on.

clayne- hey man no hard feelings its just it seemed you were trying to tear me down a little so I got a little defensive but there will always be something bigger and better out there and there will always be someone faster. My setup is and should be good enough for me and it was what I could afford at this time to put into this project and like I said before I don't know of to many people out there running this setup on a full 100% street car. 99.9% of the guys modding these cars are running with stock intake manifolds and throttle bodys I just wanted to do something a little different not re-invent the wheel. It should run pretty well when she's done (hopefully)

On a more serious note what other options are really out there that is better then what I decided to go with. You mnetioned I should be taking advantage of the fact that I am running a TEC3 so what other setups are out there that are yeilding good results. I am always on the look for the next best thing to keep up with the rest of the pack

I already found manifold I will be using on my 3 rotor project. I'll attach a pic..

Joe

You should consider switching over to the Tough Guard filters, as the Extra Guards are somewhat crap. Also, you can use a larger filter (the ones that were for the FC).

WaLieN- what are the differences in the filters you have mentioned and have you had a personal bad experience with the tough guard? Thanks.

Thanks Keith, let me know...
