New pics of the 7...56k beware

Over the winter I installed a Mazdaspeed replica hood, Feed healight cover, Blitz FMIC, Koyo Radiator, Intake hardpipes, a RB dual tip exhaust and rebuilt the motor. Let me know what you think.

Sweet montego blue FD. I like how the 96-98 spoiler sits on the car. Where did you get the hood?

diablone - Yeah, I might just have to get a 99 spec lip before too long.

RX-187 - I got the hood from a local guy who decided not to use it. I think it is a "long & hoy"(?) hood. Apparently, these guys made a batch of these hoods a few years back and this one never got installed.

Like I said, thanks for the compliments. After 3 years of owning it, I am finally very happy with how it looks and performs....except it's time for some wheels. $$

Who makes that hood? Is the fit perfect? It looks good in the pics but how does it look in person?

The car looks great! I like the hood, I like the rear spoiler and the front turn signal lights. MB looks so good when it is clean and in the sun, love it!

I'm not really a fan of the headlight cover, it just makes the front of the car look to busy IMHO.

Jeff- The hood fits ok. Not perfect, i'd say a 6 out of 10. I had a buddy of mine that's a body guy shape it a little better. While it hasn't been hot enough to test how well the hood works, I can say that it looks like it works well. I can see "heat waves" coming from the vents once the engine gets nice and hot.

SNracing- I have alot of polishing to do, but I am getting tired of doing it. Think I can just polish my elbow without getting a new one????? hehe

Nah, it just needs some "Back to Black" by Mothers.

99 lips are ugly. Stick with stock.

I Back to Black my front lip, black plastic on the sides of the car (just in front of the rear tires), the back black plastic on the under side of the rear bumper and the plastic panel stretching all the way across just below the windshield every time I was my car. Makes a uuuuge (Trump Style) difference.

Looking good Ryan! I love the Mazdaspeed hood! I've been looking around for one but haven't had much luck recently.

See you Friday

ltltgr- They are moroso hoos pins. You can get them from summit for around 10-15 if I recall. I like them because they are small, but they are almost a little too small. I am a bit worried that they don't distribute pressure over a big enough area. So far, so good. They really stabilize the hood at interstate speed.

Mr. P- Hell yes I'll be doing some autoXing. How's your car doing?

A short shifter is on my list of to-do's....but it's a long list

Craked apex seal, rear rotor = rebuild this summer + T04s kit. The rebuild will begin in two weeks after I get back from FL. I'll be doiNg most of the work during the weeknights - if you are available to help, I'll make sure the cold ones don't run out

BTW, I think you made the right decision to get the hood painted - looks great in Montego!
