new PF PMC for $300. Worth it?
I just recently bought an rx7, and I am rebuilding it as many of you may have seen posts of mine looking for parts. In my looking I found a PF PMC with keypad for $300 and it is in brand new condition, never used. I dont have the money to go out and get a Power FC do you guys think this would be a good buy? I mean even at this price I could junk it 6 months down the road and get the Power FC or the AEM.

I don't know, alot of versions of that ECU. How OLD is it? Have to tune for each mod.
I would just go plug and play. You could get your ECU to M2, or Pettit. Like 699.00 and they program it. The Pettit will run a mid-pipe good for ~50HP. Just call Jeff or David at Pettit. Or buy 1 used so you can keep your ECU for smog check if your state has smog check.

It's only $300. If you absolutly need it, why not? It was proven as a good ECU for several years until better units came out. Reason no one really wants it is because it is a piggy back ECU. The new replacement ECU at least run off a bit rate faster than the stock ECU. The PMC runs at the same speed as the stock ECU since it is just a piggy back.

I used the purple box for years...it's fine...drivability with the PFC is much smoother then the EFI box...but $300 bucks is pretty cheap...I should mine right when the PFC's started getting hot...for $400 bucks
