I can't wait, but I'll have to. The engine is currently out for a rebuild by Glen Weaver of Arizona Rotary Rockets. Here's a pic of the car last year with Chuck's Rotary Extreme N1 knockoff hood in CF.

n1=rotary extreme copy
ad9=re-amemiya which is what you have.

Who did the importing? Why did you buy basically the same hood, seems like a waste of money?

The pics make it look like a very well built hood. Looks like it will be rigid enough. Are you going to paint it, or leave it bare?

At this point I'm planning to paint it. Probably will leave the underside (or a portion of it) black as not to cover the RE label with paint.

Ordered the hood at Sevenstock last September in Irvine. RE Amemiya was at the event offering FREE shipping for any items ordered during the day. My friend and I both ordered AD9 hoods plus he ordered their rear diffuser.

Attached a couple of additional shots of the old hood. Fitment was not quite as good as the AD9, hence a slight modification to the hood hinge holes and latch height to make it fit properly. Also, the N1 hood had trimmed edges while the AD9 has rolled edges. AD9 is a much nicer piece overall.

RE Amemiya handled all of the importing. We ordered at Sevenstock, paid them when the parts began construction, and they handled the rest. I hear what you're saying on cost, but trust me, the quality and fitment is much nicer. Guess I'm just a sucker for the "real deal" plus "FREE" shipping didn't hurt either.

Quality is definitely a big thing with body parts. When I received my Knightsport replica it had blemishes in the clearcoat and was already warped...

Paint just the hood and leave the vents unpainted... That would be sex
