New Miata guys are using FD rims

I was trolling around the miata.net forums and stumbled across this thread:
http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=154826

Apparently the FD rims fit new Miata quite well.

Pretty cool

Very interesting. I have '92 Miata... I've been tempted by the new one.

Shows you how times change. 16" wheels were considered pretty sporty in the early 90s. Now even the Miata has bigger wheels stock.

considering Fd wheels are one of the most well engineered wheels made for racing, i would say this is a good choice. you really cant beat a 16x8 wheel that only ways a little more then 15 pounds each.

Yeah, me too. Seems like a pretty cool car. however, I think my next Miata will be a Spec Miata

Maybe you'll see me on track once I move out to the SD/SoCal area next year...

There is a guy next to me with a dark blue probe that has bronze FD wheels. They look pretty sweet.

I acturally gave my FD spare to a local Miata guy who just purchased a new Miata. Apprently the new Miata does not come with spare.

I don't really like the new miata.
It looks too much like the RX8.
The older Miatas (95-recently) have really nice curves.
The new one really lacks this.
But they are still awesome cars.

I love the way you post.
You make a statement.
Then you hit enter.
It reads funny.
I agree with what you said.
However the new miata performs well.
So Perhaps that can overtake any issues with it's design otherwise.

There's a guy driving an old beat-up Mazda PU around in my town with chrome FD wheels. Wouldn't give $10 for the rusted out old hulk, but I'd love to buy those wheels.

I thought the same at first...

cover the tail-lights up and take another look...

They totally ruin what is actually a very nice design IMO..

I like the style of first gen miata.
It has the looks of british cars.
2nd gen. miata looks cheap and boring.
06 miata looks nice.
It looks more "expensive".
