New to me FD :)

Just wanted to post some pics of my new to me FD.

This is my first FD and I know I have alot to learn.
So baby steps for me......

Ive had 4 FB's, to include a turbo GSL-SE that i built...its forsale now in my signature

I have always wanted a FD ever since 1993 when I was in high school......shows my age.
But all I could afford then was a 81 GSL....... Well now i'm living the dream!!!! LOVE this car!!

Got the car from Eddie in Houston from this forsale thread, Thanks Eddie!!
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-rx-7-1993-2002-vehicles-107/base-vr-fd-%2410-5k-dfw-75019-a-849230/

It's a 93 base w/92kon the body and 6k on the rebuild, its pretty stock.
She needs some TLC in a couple of areas but overall a solid car!

well here she is...

thanks for looking!

Steve

Beautiful car but that picture location would have been better if you had a Viper judging by the sign

Congrats on the purchase. Hope you have it for many years!

PS.
Let me point out one thing that will annoy you about your car that I always point out to new 1993 FD owners :

Check out the nice seat belt buckle on the drivers side seat. Its a nice looking piece that fits the car very well.

Now take a look at your passenger side seat belt buckle. It's not nice like the drivers side and looks like it came out of the back seats of an old Ford Tempo or out of an old American truck:

Good thing this was fixed in 1994 or else it would have driven me crazy in my car

wow very strange because my car is the exact same way! i have the same buckle combo (nice one on drivers side, ugly one on passengers side) but they are both red (i have red interior). i always wondered about that...

I never noticed the seat belt thing. Ah well, I never considered myself to have a high attention to detail guy either.

Looks clean, and that is usually the hardest thing to find in the 3rd gen. Have fun with it.

Yeah she looks good from 10ft away.
But its a solid car, I'm very happy with it!

What i want to fix.....
Well, my front lips is pretty beat up and hangs down.
Need to get the A/C fixed.
Radio wont play cds
Rear bushing are bad (already ordered new ones)
Clutch is a 6 puck....... changing that soon to ACT
And need to do some reliabilty mods!

Thats it so far.
I'm sure the list will grow!

You talk about doing reliability mods. This one sort of has all the original reliability mods from THE tuner. The PFS medium SMIC is still very nice with twins. Was that a J&S knock sensor under the right side of the dash? I'm pretty sure this car had the 1995-1997 PFS "treatment" I think. Might be an original PFS "Stage I" kind of thing. What sway bars do you have?

Gordon
Not sure about that.... I'll check into it.
thanks for the info.

How much faster or slower is the FD compared to your GSL-SE? My friend has one with a TII engine and it flies! Im sure his is faster than my FD but my car isnt modified power-wise, just has suspension work. Do you have any engine shots?

Your interior still looks great. Most people never notice that weirdo seat belt anyways. See below...

The FD is slower for sure. My Turbo GSL-SE has gone 12.3 @ 113.
But i still like the feel of the FD even though its slower(not for long)
