new mazda motor mounts... question help

hey,

got new mazda motor mounts from Mike on the fourms (rotoboy661) and i noticed a small crack type thing. i only have the left one for now until tomorrow until i get the other side. i was just wondering about the crack. its really small and mike was totally cool about it so i dont want to have him exhange it if its not necessary. btw, i would of had the other one but tri-point ordered like 10 sets so they took my right one!!.... these are new mounts and if tri-point gets it, their good enough for me. please take a look at the pics and let me know what you think:

its that small crack and it goes for less than an inch. should i get it replaced?? i dont want to if its not needed????

also, here are the rest of the pics:

thanks

not really. the rubber is hard but when i put a lot of pressure on one point, i can push it in a little. also, it had paint sprayed all over the rubber part and its coming off whenever i touch it.

I smell a rat.

I think you got a USED motor mount. There should be no cracks at all on the rubber or metal.
If this is the drivers side (you said left?) it looks like one of the old aluminum ones that have been replaced by an updated part with stonger cast iron, higher viscosity fluid inside, and a thicker retention strap. He sprayed black spray paint on it to make it look new. You got scammed if you think you were buying a new one.

Get your money back, bite the bullet and buy a set of new OEM's in the bag from Malloy.

How much did you pay for it?

haha oh man, not to be an ***, but you got ripped. if the rubber is pealing that is a sure sign that it has been melted already.

lesson:
dont be cheap

hey, i didnt get ripped off.... that isnt a tear, its a extra peice of rubber from the making of it. as for the spray paint, it was on the rubber part and its not really important. it is a new motor mount and i wasnt cheap. i paid $230 for it. i bought 2 and i only needed the left one so i have a new right one from the dealer for sale!!

if anyone needs one...
