Personally, I don't care for the visual aspect of the taillights.
IMO, it will REALLY give the FD a dated/cheapened look.
It kinda resembles those old school cutouts used to lay on top of brake lights...circa early 90s (which I some times still see today).
The normal FD and 99 spec brake lights leave the car w/ a more modern look. Just look at the current Mercedes taillights. More and more cars are coming out w/ as much "clear" plastic on top, and either the use of red bulbs or red plastic underneath.

Sending it to Mike w/ ClearCorners? (I've known him for years). The guy definitely does a great job. No complaints w/ that.
But painting the tailight? I dunno. Still undecided about that. One forum member did that w/ his car...it came out pretty good. But painting it w/ the 99spec circles...I dunno...

I'm going to go ahead and come on in and rain on everybody's bad taste parade once again:
Painted (body colored) FD tailights look like ***. Cleared out FD tailights look like double ***.
The tailights are the best and most unique design feature of the car, and make the back end look great... a place where alot of car designers screw the pooch (see: C5 corvette). The OE, and '99's look great, no need to change them.
As far as these LED versions, i'll withold judgement until I see them on a car, but I am dissapointed by how they look like an opaque black plastic cover with three holes drilled in it for the lights, instead of three lights under a smoked plastic cover the way the factory lights are. I've love LED's, but I think I'd prefer them in housings like the OE rather than this style.
